Michigan Magnet Fisher Pulls Artillery Shell from Lansing River
I would imagine that when you set out to go magnet fishing, your hope is to find things like historic artifacts, antique coins, maybe even some jewelry. You probably don't hope to come across something dangerous, but that's exactly what one Michigan magnet fisher found recently.

Have you heard of Shujaa King? He's gone viral on TikTok a few times with some of the stuff he's dragged out of waterways throughout the Mitten State.
More recently, he found something very scary while magnet fishing in the Red Cedar River in Lansing: an artillery shell.

When Shujaa first looked at this item after pulling it from the river, he suspected it was an explosive and right away called 911, even saying 'I found a bomb'.
Police very quickly responded with a bomb unit to assess the situation.

It seems that it was determined not to be a threat, or was at least disposed of properly, because nothing else has been reported on it. Check out the full video below.
As weird as it sounds, finding weapons when magnet fishing isn't as uncommon as you think. Typically though it's old knives and not usually artillery shells.
