And no, I'm not talking about ghosts or goblins. I'm talking about real life scares like, realizing you HAVE to go to Frandor for something. That's a real Lansing horror movie.

Frandor isn't the only thing terrifying enough to be deemed a "Lansing horror movie" though, there are plenty of other scary scenarios that could be deemed horror movie worthy.

Lansing Has Its Own Unique Brand of Chaos

If you are a Lanstronaut, I have no doubt that you've been personally victimized by some of these Lansing-specific horror movie-like situations.

1. Seeing headlights coming at you on the one-way part of Saginaw.

This happens way too often. It's literally the reason why I look both ways before crossing a one-way street.

2. Trying to drive through East Lansing during MSU move in week.

The population in the area essentially doubles overnight. Not to mention, there are a lot of people in town who are unfamiliar with the area, leading to lots of potential backups throughout East Lansing.

3. Trying to turn left onto Grand River once the students come back to town.

There are way more people in Downtown East Lansing once the students are back in town, as pedestrians and drivers, making those left turns way more difficult.

4. That first big snow melt after winter that reveals all the potholes at once.

They've been filled with snow all winter. Now, you hit them and your soul leaves your body for a minute.

5. Waiting through three light cycles just to get through Okemos Road.

Okemos Road at Grand River can come to a standstill any time of day.

We've all been there, at least once or twice. If there are scarier Lansing "horror movies" out there, I'm all ears.
