The World’s Longest Yard Sale Starts in Michigan This Weekend
If you like going to yard sales, I have something for you this weekend.
It's the first Thursday through Sunday in August, so you know what that means... The World's Longest Yard Sale is back!
What Is the 127 Yard Sale?
Actually named the 127 Yard Sale, this annual tradition has been going on since Mike Walker began it in 1987. It all started as a way to attract people to scenic routes so they could see what small cities and rural towns had to offer. Since then, it's grown into the literally the world's longest yard sale.
Currently, the yard sale spans four days, six states, and 690 miles. And bonus, the whole thing technically starts right here in Michigan! The beginning of the yard sale starts just five miles north of Addison Michigan and ends in Gadsen, Alabama.

When Does the 127 Yard Sale Happen?
The 127 Yard sale always begins the first Thursday in August and runs through the weekend, so this year that's August 7 through 10. The yard sales are generally located along highway 127, hence the name, but there are some on off shoots.

You never know what you might find along the way... perhaps that last piece that finishes your old school Barbie collection, or maybe a beautiful piece of heirloom jewelry. You'll never know unless you go!
