The Big Ten Network just rolled out Michigan's 2026 football schedule, and yep, it's the kind of slate that has you circling weekends already. It's also the Wolverines' first season under new head coach Kyle Whittingham, so this is our first real peek at what the week-to-week grind is going to look like in that era.

It starts friendly, then gets spicy fast. Michigan opens at home, then hits a huge early non-conference test before the Big Ten calendar really starts tightening.

Biggest Home Games at the Big House

If you're counting, that's eight home dates in Ann Arbor, which is a pretty nice setup for a first-year coaching transition. The early headline is obviously Oklahoma coming to the Big House in Week 2, that's a find out who you are kind of game right away.

Sneaky Road Trips That Could Bite

The timing is interesting too: an open week on October 10 breaks things up before the Penn State stretch, and the late-season run has just a little bit of everything. Rivalry energy with Michigan State, a trip out to Oregon, then UCLA back at home before The Game in Columbus to close it out.

Also worth noting: Iowa in late September is never a freebie, and the Minnesota/Rutgers road pair can be sneaky. If Michigan handles the middle, November sets up the drama for everyone watching.

Kick-off times will come later as we get closer to the season.
