Michigan State is about to look a little different when the Spartan teams take the field, court, ice, mat, or basically anywhere else.

Michigan State Adds MSUFCU Logo To Every Team

MSU Athletics and MSU Federal Credit Union announced a new 10-year jersey patch partnership that will put the MSUFCU logo on uniforms for all 23 Michigan State men's and women's teams starting with the 2026-27 athletic season.

That means this will not just be a football or basketball opportunity for the Spartans, but an every-Spartan-team opportunity.

Why College Jersey Ads Are Growing

According to MSU, this is the first jersey patch partnership in the Big Ten Conference across all sports. MSUFCU branding will also show up on Spartan practice gear, and the football team will have an MSUFCU logo on the bumper of the iconic Spartan helmet.

It is another sign of where college sports are currently headed. Jersey ads have been normal in pro sports for a while, and now college athletics is getting in on it too. Beginning with the 2026-27 season, Division I schools can add commercial sponsorship patches to uniforms, with limits on size and number.

Could Other Big Ten Schools Follow?

Other Big Ten schools could do this too. Michigan State is one of the first Big Ten schools to do it across all sports, but there are 17 other schools in the conference that could eventually look at similar jersey patch deals.

Whether Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, or any other Big Ten school jumps in next is anyone's guess. Athletic departments are looking for new revenue in the NIL and revenue-sharing era, and it would not be surprising to see more schools follow this pattern.
