8 Great Michigan Festivals Still to Come This July

We're past all the 4th of July festivities, but there's still plenty of fun stuff to plug into across Michigan this month. Here are a few of our favorites.

ScrapFest

Old Town Lansing turns junk into jaw-dropping art during ScrapFest, July 10th and 11th.

Stroll Turner Street to see incredible sculptures crafted from scrap metal. Then enjoy live music, food trucks, eco-art vendors, family activities, and the always popular ReFashion show. Admission is free, and the sculptures are available through silent auction.

Eaton County Fair

It's one of Mid-Michigan's favorite summer traditions. The Eaton County Fair returns to Charlotte July 13th through 18th.

Expect carnival rides, livestock shows, delicious fair food, live entertainment, tractor pulls, motocross, rodeo action, and the always-popular Bump-N-Run Derby. Bring the family and enjoy a week of summertime fun.

Ann Arbor Art Fair

One of the nation's largest outdoor art events is the annual Ann Arbor Art Fair, filling downtown Ann Arbor July 16th through 18th.

Browse hundreds of artists from across the country featuring paintings, photography, jewelry, ceramics, sculptures, and more, while enjoying great food, live entertainment, and a vibrant summer atmosphere.

Muskegon Bike Time

Leave your Schwinn at home. Muskegon Bike Time is one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the Great Lakes!

It rolls into Muskegon July 16th through 19th with live music, custom bikes, stunt shows, vendors, great food, scenic rides along Lake Michigan, and plenty of chrome, horsepower, and fun for riders and spectators alike.

Ionia Free Fair

Known as the "10 Best Days of Summer," the Ionia Free Fair returns July 16th through the 25th (in Ionia, of all places).

Grandstand entertainment includes a motorhome demo derby. Come on — that's must-see entertainment right there. Of course, there'll also be monster trucks, motocross, tractor pulls, carnival rides and all your other fair favorites too.

Michigan Brown Trout Festival

The Michigan Brown Trout Festival has been a summer tradition in Alpena since 1975 and runs July 17th through 26th.

Enjoy fishing tournaments, live music, food vendors, a beer tent, kids' activities, nightly entertainment and more, right along the shores of Lake Huron.

Lakeside Shakespeare Festival

Experience Shakespeare under the stars at the Lakeside Shakespeare Festival in Frankfort, July 23rd through August 1st.

It's set on Tank Hill, overlooking Lake Michigan. This year's festival features alternating performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream and Macbeth.

Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival

One of Michigan's biggest summer celebrations is the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival.

This one drops anchor in Grand Haven July 24th through August 2nd. Enjoy ship tours, parades, live music, carnival rides, fireworks, a drone show, family activities, and heartfelt tributes honoring the brave men and women of the United States Coast Guard.
